Behind the Barcode campaign

Oxfam launched its Behind the Barcodes campaign in 2018 to examine the policies and practices of some of the biggest supermarkets around the world. Oxfam produces ‘Supermarket Scorecards’ by analysing the supermarkets’ policies and practices on human rights in their supply chains and asking whether supermarkets are transparent and accountable in the ways they ensure that workers’ rights are respected, farmers are prosperous and resilient and the women who produce our food are treated fairly. Oxfam’s Behind the Barcode campaign has published research on labour rights in Thai and Indonesian seafood supply chains.
